What is shotcrete?
Shotcrete is concrete that is conveyed down and out through a hose and then pneumatically pumped at a high velocity onto a surface. Shotcrete is, in essence, a construction technique
Once the shotcrete has been pumped onto the surface (to form your pool), it is then reinforced using conventional steel rods, fibres as well as steel mesh. Although shotcrete is usually a term that covers both wet-mix and dry-mix, in pool construction specifically, shotcrete refers to wet mix while gunite refers to dry mix. Shotcrete is versatile as it can be put onto and then compacted against any surface or shape. This even includes overhead and vertical areas!
At Lap of Luxury Pools, our pool excavation experts have been carrying out the job and more importantly, satisfying our clients for many years.
